2. breech presentation
3. fetal heart-rate <60 per minute
4. chorioamnionitis
5. small placenta

• ACOG-AAP criteria for birth asphyxia:

1. cord pH <7.0 7.
2. 5 minute APGAR score <4
3. neonatal neurological abnormalities
4. multiorgan failure

• Most cerebral palsy is not birth asphyxia
  
  
• Most birth asphyxia does arise from preventable events during labour
  
  
• Even when birth asphyxia precedes cerebral palsy, it may not be the cause
