Pregnancy markers anticipating Shoulder Dystocia:
  1. maternal obesity
  2. clinically large fetus
  3. abnormal glucose tolerance
  4. postdates pregnancy
Sequential management of Shoulder Dystocia:
  1. McRoberts' Manoeuvre
  2. suprapubic pressure
  3. Woods' (corkscrew) Manoeuvre
  4. deliver posterior arm

PLACEBO - NOCEBO

PRACTICE POINT:

Placebo and Nocebo reactions are a part of the human condition and must be considered in every Personal Injury and Medical Negligence action.

MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS

PRACTICE POINT:

There is a theoretical basis for traumatic provocation of relapse of Multiple Sclerosis but no empirical evidence.

POST-TRAUMATIC CANCER

PRACTICE POINTS:

There is no known pathogenetic mechanism whereby a physically traumatic event might cause cancer.
